storEDGE allows you to organize units by type and assign different revenue account codes to those unit types. For example, if you wanted to organize your units by labeling some as Mailboxes, some as Parking Spaces and some as General Storage, you would use Unit Types to do this. You could also assign a unique revenue code to these unit types to track the revenue for these units separately.
A basic set of unit types are setup during the creation of your account. By default, all unit types have the 4000 - Rental Revenue account code assigned to them.
To access your company's unit type settings:
- Click the Corporate button in the upper right of your screen.
- From the Settings tab, click on the Software Settings tab and then the Unit Types button.
Add a New Unit Type
- Click the ⊕ New Unit Type button.
- Enter the name you'd like to use.
- Select the rent revenue account code you'd like to use.
- Click Save.
Once you have the unit type created, you will need to assign it to your units. Go to your facility settings and click on the Units button to edit your units and assign the new unit types.
Editing Unit Types
When editing unit types, it is important to note that those changes will only be reflected on reports from the date of editing and forward. Editing unit types will not change past reports.
Disabling Unit Types
Before disabling a unit type, go to your facility settings and click on the Units button to edit all units currently using that unit type. Assign them a different unit type then disable the old unit type.
