The tenant experience when they're enrolled in Auto-Protect (Storable Insurance)

⚠️  Auto-Protect is available to facilities that use Storable Insurance (Storsmart or Bader) as their insurance provider. Learn more about Auto-Protect.

 

When using Auto-Protect with Storable Edge, your tenants will sign an agreement at move-in and receive three emails. The templates for these documents are system-generated and can’t be edited, but are pre-populated with details such as your facility name and the tenant’s name. The emails tenants will receive include a link to our Proof of Private Insurance Portal they can enter their private insurance details if they choose not to enroll in your store policy.

Note: Tenants will not receive the enrollment emails or be enrolled in Auto-Protect if they are delinquent.

Documents the tenant receives

1. Auto-Protect Agreement

The Auto-Protect Agreement is a document that your tenant signs that gives you their acknowledgement and consent to be enrolled in your store insurance policy if they don’t provide proof of private insurance coverage for their rental. This document is system-generated and cannot be edited because it contains language approved by the Storsmart/Bader legal team. This document will be generated at move-in along with your lease and any other move-in documents that you require and can be signed with eSign or on paper.

2. Initial Auto-Protect email 

This email will be sent to your tenant after move-in is complete to remind them that they’ll need to provide proof of private insurance or they’ll be enrolled in your store insurance at the end of your grace period. The email includes a link to our Proof of Private Insurance Portal where they can enter their private insurance details.

3. Reminder email 

This email will be sent to your tenant 7 days before your grace period ends. It serves to remind your tenants that they have 7 more days to provide your facility with proof of private insurance before being enrolled in your store insurance policy.

4. Enrollment into Storable Insurance confirmation

This email will be sent to your tenant (if they failed to provide proof of coverage within the grace period) after Edge has enrolled them in your store insurance. It provides them with details about their enrollment, monthly premium, and links to a brochure and Certificate of Insurance.

Proof of private insurance coverage

Proof of Private Insurance Portal

If tenants do not want to enroll in your store policy, they must submit proof of their private insurance coverage. To do so, they can click the link to our Proof of Private Insurance Portal in our Auto-Protect emails and enter their insurance policy details.

The tenant should fill in the fields on this page, upload their private insurance Declarations page, check the boxes at the bottom, and click Submit.
