Your website admin gives you the ability to customize your website’s logo and colors. Additionally, if you have multiple facilities under a different brand on the same website, you can add custom branding for each facility on your website.
This guide will provide you with instruction on how to customize your website branding and your facility branding from your website admin’s Styles tab.
This guide provides insight into:
Accessing the Styles tab
To customize your website’s branding, click the palette icon on your left vertical navigation bar.
A new window will open with two tabs - Site Branding and Facility Branding. Each of these tabs allows you to select colors, upload logos, and upload primary images.
Site Branding
On the site branding tab, you can select the colors that you’d like to be part of your website’s general brand theme, upload a favicon, or upload a logo. This logo and the colors you select will populate throughout your website by default unless you apply different colors for a facility in the Facility Branding tab.
Customizing website colors
You can select three different colors for your website’s theme:
- Primary color - The primary color will be used for your website’s major headings most of your buttons.
- Secondary color - The secondary color will be used for smaller headings, like your phone number, office hours, access hours, and the Reserve and Move-in button in your units table. Additionally, if you add social media links to your website, the associated icons will appear in your secondary color.
- Tertiary color - The tertiary color is used as an accent color in your website’s header and footer.
To edit your website's colors, enter the hex codes that correspond to colors you'd like to use in the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary color fields. The color will populate while you're editing so you can ensure you've entered the desired color.
Uploading a Favicon
A favicon is a small image that represents your business and appears in the browser tab when someone visits your website. Although favicons are used in various places, such as in bookmark lists and feed aggregators, a browser tab is the most likely place for you to see one.
Creating your own favicon is easy - there are a variety of tools online that allow you to create one on your own. We recommend using favicon.io to create your custom favicon. This tool allows you to use text, a logo, an emoji, or an image you upload.
⭐️ For best results when creating your favicon:
- Use an image that is a square or equal on all sides.
- Do not use text in your favicon image. If you must, limit text to 3 characters.
- A favicon is 16x16 pixels - ensure your image will still be legible at that small size. It's best to start with an image 228x228 pixels or larger before scaling it down.
Once you have your favicon file, uploading it is simple. Just click Upload in the Favicon section and select the file from your computer. When you’re finished, click Save in the bottom right corner to save your changes.
Uploading a Company Logo
Your company logo appears in the header logo widget in the header of your website. To add a logo, access the Company Branding tab of your Styles tab. In the Logo section, click Upload Logo to select a file from your computer. If you've already uploaded your logo to your Media Gallery, you can click Select from Gallery to add your logo.
We recommend the logo image file have a 1:5 height to length ratio and be at least 100 pixels in height. Larger images will automatically be resized to fit.
Once you've uploaded your logo, click Save.
Adding Company Social Media Links
If you'd like your company's social media accounts, along with the associated platform icons, to be accessible from your websites, adding them is simple. Your customers will be able to click the Facebook icon, for example, to go straight to your company's Facebook page.
Social media icons will appear in your facility's secondary color.
To add your company's social media links to your website:
- From the Site Branding tab of your Styles tab, scroll down to the Social Media Accounts section.
- Check the boxes next to the social media accounts you'd like to add and paste the public URL of the associated account.
- When you're finished, click Save.
Facility Branding
If you have one or more facilities that have a different brand than the rest of your self storage company, you can add custom branding to your facility pages to distinguish them from other brands on your website. You can edit your facility branding from the Facility Branding tab within your Styles tab. From here, you can:
- Add a primary facility image
- Select facility brand colors
- Add a facility logo
- Add facility social media links
Uploading a Primary Facility Image
Uploading a primary facility image for your facility will ensure that the image you choose will populate in any widgets that pull in a facility's information, without the need to upload the image multiple times. You will only have to upload it once, and it will populate in the facility information section on pages that list facility locations. For example, if you have an All Locations page or regional pages that list facilities in a particular area, the primary facility image will appear next to the facility to which you've added it.
To upload a primary facility image:
- Access the Facility Branding tab within your Styles tab.
- Select the desired facility from drop down.
- In the Primary Facility Image section, select Upload Image to select an image file from your computer. If you've already uploaded your facility image to your Media Gallery, you can click Select from Gallery to select and add the image.
- Add Alt text (required) and Title Text to your facility image.
- Click Save.
Customizing Facility Brand Colors
If your facility's brand colors differ from your company brand's colors, you can customize your facility colors to ensure that your facility's branding appears as desired. To customize facility branding colors from the Facility Branding tab of your Styles tab:
- Enable the Allow Custom Facility Branding toggle. You'll find it below the Primary Facility Image section.
- Enter the hex codes that correspond to colors you'd like to use in the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary color fields. The color will populate while you're editing so you can ensure you've entered the desired color.
- Click Save.

- Access the Facility Branding tab of your Styles tab.
- Ensure that the Allow Custom Facility Branding toggle is turned on.
- In the Logo section, click Upload Logo to select a file from your computer. If you've already uploaded your logo to your Media Gallery, you can click Select from Gallery to add your logo. - Click Save.
Adding Facility Social Media Links
If a facility on your website has different social media accounts from your company accounts, you can ensure that the facility social media links populate on your facility's page.
A few things to know about how your social media links will work:
- Links will populate in the social media widget wherever it is placed on a page.
- If the widget is on a facility page, it will populate that facility’s links and colors.
- If the widget isn’t on a facility page, it will populate the company links and colors.
- If a social media widget is in a header of a facility page and there are no custom links entered for that facility, the company links will populate.
- Social media icons will appear in the secondary color set for the facility.
To add social media accounts for your facility:
- From the Facility Branding tab of your Styles tab, select the desired facility from the drop down.
- Ensure that the Allow Custom Facility Branding toggle is turned on.
- Scroll down to the toggle labeled Allow Facility Social Media Accounts and click the toggle to enable facility social media links.
- Check the boxes next to the social media accounts you'd like to add and paste the public URL of the associated account.
- When you're finished, click Save.
Custom Company Name Setting
The Custom Company Name setting allows you to change your Company name across your website.
Rather than using the company name set within your software, this setting allows you to customize each company’s name within the footer of your website as well as on the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions pages.
To start, click on the Style tab found on the left navigation bar.
A Branding pop-up will appear. Toggle “Allow Custom Company Name” until it appears green. Once you do this, an editable Company Name field will appear below.
Add the company name you would like to use within this field.
