📖 Business Intelligence Report Builder

Log in to the Storable Intelligence Platform

Click on a report dashboard from the Reports page in Edge.

Storable Intelligence is only available to users on Storable ID with the Business Intelligence role assigned to them.

If your screen does not match the screenshot below, your organization needs to enable Storable ID. Follow the instructions in our Admin Quick Start guide to get started. Once Storable ID is turned on, an admin will need to assign the Business Intelligence role to any users who should have access. Users who have been given access, should log out and log back into Edge to see the reports.

Schedule delivery

You can schedule report data to be delivered by email at regular intervals by following the instructions below.

  1. Click the three dots in the top left corner of the dashboard.
  2. Click Schedule delivery.
  1. On the Settings tab, select when and how the data will be delivered.

  1. Name - The name defaults to the dashboard's name, but can be edited if you wish.
  2. Recurrence - Select one of the following options from the Recurrence drop-down menu:
  • Monthly
  • Weekly
  • Daily
  • Hourly
  • Minutes
  • Specific months
  • Specific days

Hourly and Minutes: Hourly and Minutes repeat daily within your set Start and End timeframe. The end time for Hourly and Minutes intervals is not inclusive. The final delivery is sent at the last selected interval before the specified end time. For example, if a dashboard is scheduled hourly between 12:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., it will be sent on the hour, every hour, from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. If Recurrence is set for every 30 minutes between 12:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., the last delivery will be sent at 10:30 p.m.

Send now: If you select Send now from the Recurrence drop-down menu, the dashboard will be sent once after you fill in the required fields and click the Send now button at the bottom of the window.

  1. Destination - Enter the email addresses of the recipients who should receive the reports in the Email addresses field. If you enter multiple email addresses, press the Enter key or add a comma after each address.
  2. Format - You can select one of the following from the Format drop-down menu:
  • CSV zip file: The unformatted data from the dashboard is delivered as an email attachment containing a collection of comma-separated values (CSV) files in a zipped directory.
  • PDF: An image of the dashboard is delivered as a single PDF file attached to the email. The default layout displays tiles as they are arranged in the dashboard, but other layouts and sizing options are available under Advanced options.
  • PNG visualization: An image of the dashboard is delivered as a single PNG file inline within the email body. The default layout displays tiles as they are arranged in the dashboard, but other layout options are available under Advanced options.
  1. The Filters tab shows any filters applied to the dashboard and their values. In this tab, you can edit the values for any existing filters applied to the dashboard, and the new values will be applied to the delivery. The dashboard itself will not be affected. You cannot add filters to your schedule in the Filters tab; you can only view and edit the values for existing dashboard filters.

How changes to filters impact delivered data

  • If a filter is renamed or deleted from the dashboard, it will be removed from the delivered data.
  • If a filter is added to the dashboard, it will be applied to the delivered data using the filter value set in the Filters tab. If no value is set in the Filters tab, the filter will be removed from the delivered data.
  • If a schedule is created with a filter and the filter value is later changed on the dashboard, there will be no effect on the schedule filter value. It remains the value set in the Filters tab.
  1. On the Advanced options tab, you can customize the email delivery and how the data is displayed for PDF and PNG formats.

a. Custom message: You can enter a message up to 1500 characters to be included in the body of the email.

b. Run schedule as recipient: The Run schedule as recipient option allows you to specify a list of recipients who will each receive the content delivery as if they had run the query themselves, while respecting their permissions.

c. Include links: Select this option to include a View full dashboard link in the data delivery emails. Recipients must log in to the Storable Intelligence dashboard and have permission to access the reports to view the content via the link.

d. Expand tables to show all rows: This option is only available for PDF formats. Check Expand tables to show all rows to display all rows of any table in the dashboard, rather than just those rows that appear in the dashboard tile thumbnails. Dashboard tiles containing table visualizations may look slightly different in delivered PDFs than on the dashboard.

e. Arrange dashboard tiles in a single column: This option is available only for the PDF and PNG formats. Check the Arrange dashboard tiles in a single column box to format dashboard tiles in a single vertical column layout.

f. Paper size: This option is available only for dashboard deliveries in PDF format. You can specify the size and orientation from the Paper size drop-down menu.

g. Delivery time zone: To specify a time zone, select it from the drop-down menu. The time zone you choose does not affect the data in your Look or dashboard; it just affects the delivery timing.

6. Testing a schedule: If you set the Recurrence field to anything other than Send now, a Test now button will appear at the bottom left corner of the Schedule delivery window. Click Test now to send a one-time test delivery of the schedule only to yourself.

7. When you are done configuring the Scheduled Delivery, click Save.
