How to enable SSO for BI Reporting

Business Intelligence dashboards can be accessed using Storable Single Sign-On (SSO).

With SSO, you will create new login credentials to log in to Storable Edge and Business Intelligence with a single user account.

If you would like to access Business Intelligence, an admin of your Edge account with View Reports and Manage users permission can quickly enable SSO by following the instructions below.

1. On the Reports page in Edge (at either the Corporate or Facility level), click Enable Intelligence & SSO for Me.
2. Enter your Edge password.

3. Enter your profile information, login details, and select a security question and answer.

4. Click Create User Account.

5. You will be redirected to the login screen. Log in with your new SSO user account.

6. You will see a notification that Business Intelligence is being set up for your SSO user account, and you will be automatically directed to the Edge Reports page.
7. You can then enable BI & SSO for everyone at your company with access to Edge by clicking Manage Intelligence & SSO Set Up.

8. You can choose to enable SSO and Intelligence or just SSO for everyone.

9. By default,

  • Users will not be required to use Multi-Factor Authentication.
  • Users can set up their accounts using any email format.
  • Users will be locked out after 5 failed login attempts.
  • Users must use a unique email address.

If you would like to change any of these settings, click Advanced Settings and then Manage Settings.

Select your settings and click Save Settings.

10. Click Enable and continue.

Users at your company will be prompted to create an SSO user account when they next log in.

If you’ve selected to enable Intelligence for everyone, users will have access to Business Intelligence once they’ve set up their SSO account.

If you do not enable Business Intelligence for everyone at your company during the SSO enablement flow, you can do so later by creating and assigning the BI access profile to users in the Storable portal.

11. Back on the Reports screen in Edge, you can click the Business Intelligence button to open the BI portal.

Once Storable ID is enabled:

  • Add, delete, or modify user access for users who have created SSO credentials in the Storable SSO portal. Users who haven’t created their SSO credentials are managed in Edge.
  • Manage SSO settings in the SSO portal.
  • Manage Business Intelligence access in the SSO portal.
  • Continue managing software user permissions in Edge as usual.
