Run trailing-day reports earlier in the day

To provide you with timely analytics insights at the start of your business day, we’ve made trailing-day reports available earlier. You can now run trailing-day reports starting at 6:00 AM ET for facilities in the continental U.S. For facilities in Alaska and Hawaii, reports can be run beginning at 6:00 AM AK time.

You will also receive scheduled reports earlier than before. Exact delivery times may vary and are impacted by factors such as the size and quantity of the reports included in the delivery.

Real-time alternatives for trailing-day reports: Some of our commonly used metrics from trailing-day reports have real-time alternative reports. We’ve created a resource with alternate reports in our Help Center to help you access data whenever you need it.

Maximum Rental Rate on Tenant Leases

You can now display a maximum rent amount on your lease forms. This amount is the highest monthly rate that could be charged for a unit within a 12-month period. You can also display the amount and duration of any discounts and promotional rates. 

This additional, optional information helps you provide comprehensive and transparent information for your storage unit rentals. Mobile updates

We’re making some updates to enhance your experience with Storable Edge on mobile devices. We’ve streamlined navigation on mobile to optimize screen space and make buttons easier to use. We’ve also updated the dashboard tab to provide a clearer view of each data set. This is the first step in a series of planned improvements to the mobile experience.

You can learn more about the differences between the desktop and mobile experience in our article: Navigating Edge on a mobile device.

For the best mobile experience, please ensure your device is running the latest version of the operating system. Please note: The mobile experience is optimized for mobile phones, not tablets.

Trailing day report indication

We added a tooltip in the top right corner of the Reports page that indicates the current status of the trailing day report and the timestamp of the last sync.

  • The facility-level software will display the timestamp in the facility's local time zone.
  • The corporate-level software will show timestamps for all time zones of any facilities on your account.

Hover over the tooltip to see sync times broken down by time zone. Trailing day reports are now indicated with a clock icon.

Transactions Status filter (Storable Payments)

We’ve added a Status filter to the Storable Payments Transactions page. You can now filter transactions by the following statuses:

  • Approved
  • Pending
  • Failed
  • Captured
  • Settled
  • Returned
  • Cancelled

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) challenge frequency options

If your account uses Storable ID, we’re providing the option for Admins to set the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) challenge frequency. The default is 14 days, with options for every 7, 14, 30, or 90 days.

Yardi report improvements

We changed the location of the Yardi export from Facility Reports > General Ledger Detail to Facility Reports > General Ledger by Day. We also changed the sorting of the export to the following:

On the facility-level report:

  • Primarily by Date (Column E) in ascending order

  • Secondarily by Description (Column O) in ascending order

On the corporate-level report:

  • Primarily by Store # (Column I) in ascending order

  • Secondarily by Date (Column E) in ascending order

  • Tertiary by Description (Column O) in ascending order

Undo Move-Outs

We’ve updated the Undo Move-Outs feature. When Undo Move-Outs is enabled, units can now be reserved or rented immediately and will no longer be on hold through the end of the day (in accordance with your Allow dirty units to be rented? and Allow damaged units to be rented? settings). Users with permission to mark a unit as Rentable or Unrentable can change the Rentable? status from the Unit page after move-out.

All tenants on a single Tenants tab

We combined the Current and Previous tabs on the Tenants tab so that all tenants are displayed on a single page. We added a new Status filter to the Tenants tab to filter for Current or Previous tenants.

Business Intelligence

Business Intelligence brings your Storable Edge data to life with powerful, out-of-the-box dashboards and custom reports.

You have access to the new Management Reports for free. Additional Growth and Performance Reports and a Report Builder tool are available as part of a paid bundle. If you're interested in accessing the Growth or Performance Reports, please fill out the form on this page.

If you use Storable ID to log in to Edge, an Admin will need to assign the Business Intelligence Portal Role to themselves and any additional users who should have access in the Storable ID portal. Users will then be able to access the new reports from the Reports page in Edge.

Disable check/money order/cash payment methods

We created settings that allow you to decide whether to accept cash, check, or money order payments. You can find the settings under facility-level Settings > Billing Section > Settings > Acceptance section of Payments. 

Occupancy Summary Report column headers

We’ll be adding column headers to the Occupancy Summary Report export on September 30th. Adding column headers resolves an issue that caused the Occupancy Summary report to break for operators who use data integration systems. We added the following column headers:

  • Facility
  • Metric Group
  • Metric Name

Search and filter previous tenants

We added a search bar and the following filters to the Previous Tenants tab of the Tenants page:

  • Storage type
  • Size
  • Amenities
  • Account type
  • Email status
  • Floor

You can also now sort previous tenants by last name.

Report enhancements

We’ve enhanced the Payment by Type and Move-Ins reports to provide greater reliability and faster performance. These reports will now utilize trailing-day data and can be run after 9 a.m. ET for the previous day. Using trailing-day data ensures the reports are complete, accurate, and consistent.

Refunds included on the Payments page

We updated the Billing > Payments page in Edge to include cash and credit card refund transactions. You can also now filter the page by Action: Payment, Refund, or Reversal.

Undo Move-Outs

We've added the ability to reverse move-outs on the same day the move-out took place. Undo Move-Outs can be enabled or disabled for individual user roles and facilities. Learn more in our help articles:

App launcher

We’ve added an App Launcher to the top left corner of the facility-level of Edge, which can be used to easily switch between Storable apps. If you use Storable ID, you will see any other Storable apps you have access to that also use Storable ID (SiteLink by Storable or Storable Easy). We’ll add more apps to Storable ID over time, and those apps will appear in the App Launcher as they are made available.

Sort documents alphabetically

When you click Send Document from the Tenant’s general tab, the Document drop-down list is now sorted alphabetically.

Surcharging (Storable Payments)

If you use Storable Payments, you now have the option to charge customers a percentage-based fee when processing electronic payments to offset the costs associated with payment processing.

Yardi accounting report updates

We updated the Yardi export of the Corporate Level General Ledger report to summarize transactions so there is only one line per internal account code, per facility, per day. We also removed the column headers from the download to make importing the file easier

Credits and waives at move-out

We’ve updated the move-out flow so that if you change the move-out date, credits or waives you previously applied during the move-out will be cleared. When this happens, you will see a banner message telling you to reapply any credits or waives.

Surcharging payments for multiple units

We’ve updated how surcharge fees are calculated when a payment is made for multiple units. If you use surcharging and a tenant pays for more than one unit, the total surcharge will be split across each unit’s ledger. Learn more in our Surcharging FAQ.

Yardi accounting export

We updated the format of the Corporate Level General Ledger and Facility Level General Ledger Detail report csv download for Yardi to match the Yardi import format.

SMS Multi-Factor Authentication for Storable ID

We’ve added SMS (text message) as a Storable ID Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) method. If you’re a Storable ID administrator, you can enable this option in your Storable ID settings.

Once enabled, Storable ID users will be able to configure SMS authentication and receive a text message for MFA verification if they choose.

Multi-Factor Authentication challenge frequency for Storable ID

In order to simplify and standardize Storable ID MFA challenge frequency, we’ve set MFA challenges to occur every 14 days. This will no longer be a configurable setting in the Storable ID portal.

We added new tenant account categories. For the Personal account type, you can now select Other or Senior. For the Business account type, you can now select Commercial.

Vehicle storage as document condition

We added vehicle storage as a document condition so you can automatically include required documents at move-in, move-out, and transfer when a vehicle is being stored.

Storable Insurance: Private insurance expiring within 29 days

We resolved an issue that prevented tenants from entering the Auto-Protect workflow if they submitted proof of private insurance set to expire in 29 days or less. The Auto-Protect process will now capture tenants who fall into this scenario, starting the day after their private insurance expires.

Tenants who did not previously enter the Auto-Protect flow due to this issue will enter the Auto-Protect flow and receive their initial Auto-Protect notice following this release.

Enhancements to your tenant insurance move-in flow (Storable Insurance)

We’re streamlining the collection of private insurance during move-in for operators using Storable Insurance and Auto-Protect. We’ve replaced the fields to collect private insurance information in the move-in flow with a reminder that the tenant will receive automated emails to submit it via the Proof of Private Insurance Portal.

Note: If you need to add a tenant’s private insurance details in Edge, you can still do so from the Tenant Profile after you complete the move-in.

Tenants should use the link in the Auto-Protect automated emails they receive to submit their insurance in the portal. Tenants must now upload their Insurance Declarations page to show proof of verifiable coverage.

Uploaded Declarations pages will appear on the Documents tab of the Tenant Profile.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

If you’re an account admin for your Storable Edge software, you can now upgrade your user logins for enhanced security using Storable ID with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Registering your organization for Storable ID is optional but recommended for improved security and PCI compliance.

Please read our pre-configuration guide for important instructions and a video walkthrough before enabling Storable ID. Once an Admin enables Storable ID, it will apply to all facilities and users on your account, and you will not be able to revert to standard login.

Snapshot tenant summaries

We’ve created a new AI feature, Snapshot, that you’ll see at the top of tenant profiles. Snapshot instantly aggregates critical tenant insights in a single click, including current rentals, payment status, delinquency status, recent transfers, preferred communication method, and documents pending signature.

Edge Reporting Improvements

We've been working to fix data accuracy issues and improve report performance, updating your most used, mission critical reports to provide greater reliability and consistency. 

For enhanced accuracy, some reports will now reflect up to the prior day — using trailing-day data ensures the reports are complete, accurate, and consistent. 

Your scheduled reports will now run between 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. ET to reflect data accuracy as of the prior day. 

The following reports will now utilize trailing-day data and can be run after 9 a.m. ET for the previous day. Using trailing-day data ensures the reports are complete, accurate, and consistent:

Default user role

We’ve created a default user role that will be pre-selected in the Role dropdown menu when creating new users. This default ensures each new user is assigned to a minimal access role if another role is not selected. You can edit the permissions associated with the default Minimal Access role or assign an existing role as the default role.

E-sign consent checkbox

We added a consent checkbox to the e-sign signature modal to comply with the E-Sign Act. Tenants must check I agree to use electronic records and signatures before clicking the “Adopt and Sign” button and signing their documents. The signer should click the Electronic Record and Signature Disclosure link for more information.

Storable Payments: Statements page

We’ve added a new Statements tab to the Storable Payments portal for Storable Payments customers. The Statements page shows the monthly statement for each facility on your account. Delinquency Schedule linked on the Tenant profile

The Delinquency Tab of the Tenant Profile now displays each unit's Delinquency Schedule version. To access this tab, navigate to the Tenants Tab, select a tenant, and click on the Delinquency Tab. The Delinquency Schedule name will be shown under the unit number and link to the unit’s Delinquency Schedule.
