Process Payments

Storable Edge

Your software can process multiple payment methods from multiple locations within the system.


Payment Methods

1) Card Reader

  • Select Card Reader as the payment method by clicking the button next to the method.

  • Click the Begin Swipe button and swipe the card.

Please check with your payment processor to find out if your card reader will work. Storable Edge accepts all card readers, but your payment processor may not.

2) Manual Debit/Credit or ACH/eCheck

  • Select Debit/Credit or ACH/eCheck as the payment method by clicking the button next to either method.

  • Enter the cardholder's first and last name, the card number, expiration date, and security code in the appropriate fields.

  • Enter the tenant’s billing address information in the proper fields.

  • Click Process Payment to complete the transaction.

If you are entering the card information over the phone or if the tenant’s billing address is the same as their mailing address, select the appropriate checkboxes.

3) Cash

  • Select cash as the payment method by clicking the button next to the method.

  • Specify the amount tendered (how much money the tenant is giving you) by typing it into the “Amount Tendered” field.

  • The software will automatically calculate the “Change Due” to the tenant.

  • Click Process Payment to complete the transaction.

4) Check

  • Select Check as the payment method by clicking the button next to the method.

  • Enter the name on the check, the check number, the check amount, and the date you received the check in the proper fields. Note: The Check Date field is optional.

  • Click Process Payment to complete the transaction.

The check amount must match the total amount to be paid.

5) Money Order

  • Select Money Order as the payment method by clicking the button next to the method.

  • Enter the money order number and amount in the appropriate fields.

  • Click Process Payment to complete the transaction.

The money order amount must match the total amount to be paid.

6) Existing Payment

  • Select Choose Existing as the payment method by clicking the button next to the method.

  • The name, card number, expiration date, and billing address will automatically populate.

  • Clicking Process Payment to complete the transaction.

Don't see a saved method? It only appears if the "Save for future use" box was checked during a previous successful payment.

Process a Payment

  1. You can process a payment by:

  • Clicking Payment on the Nav Bar,

  • Selecting the Pay button on a tenant’s general page or ledger,

  • within the Units Tab,

  • or within the Past Due Tab.

    Selecting any of these options opens the Make Payment window:

If the tenant is delinquent, their name will appear in red.
If the tenant has no overdue bills, their name will appear in blue.

  1. Click on + Show Charges to see all charges that are currently due. For tenants who are up to date with their payments, future charges will be displayed.

  1. Select the amount you'd like to process:

    • Current Balance Due: The tenant pays the full balance on their account

    • Current + Upcoming: The tenant pays their current balance and the next month’s rent. Selecting this option adds a line item labeled "Future Charges."

    • Other Amount: This allows a tenant to make a partial payment. If you select Other Amount, you’ll enter the amount the tenant would like to pay at this time.

  2. Select the payment method and click Process Payment


Process a Payment for Multiple Units

If a tenant is renting multiple units at a time, you can process payments for all of their units on a single transaction:

  • From the Nav Bar, click Payments. A pop-up window will appear.

  • Begin typing the tenant’s name.

  • Click the tenant’s name when it appears in the pop-up list. The Make Payment screen will open.

On the Make Payment screen, all of the tenant’s units are listed as line items, each with a Unit Balance and a Payment Amount.

  • Type the amount of money the tenant is paying towards each unit in the Payment Amount field.

  • Under Select New Payment Method, choose the desired payment method.

  • Click Process Payment to finalize the transaction.

  • A message will appear confirming the payment was successful.

The software will generate a single receipt for all the units on which payments were made. You will be given the option to print or email this receipt for the tenant. Click Close to close out of the Make Payment window.
