Manage Damaged And Dirty Units

Storable Edge

Storable Edge has a quick and easy way of taking units in and out of a Needs Maintenance (Damaged) or Needs Cleaning (Dirty) status.

Quick Start
1. Open the Units section and select the unit.
2. Add a Cleaning or Maintenance activity with a follow-up date and note.
3. Save the activity to mark the unit as Dirty or Damaged.
4. Use the Task List or facility map to complete the task and clear the label.

If you have a unit that will never be rented or will not be available to rent for a very long time, you can mark it as unrentable in the unit editor. Marking a unit as unrentable in the unit editor does not create a task list item for that unit. For more information about marking a unit as unrentable through the unit editor, see the Editing existing units and unit groups portion of the Unit Settings help article.

Mark A Unit As Damaged Or Dirty

  1. Navigate to the Units section on the left side of your screen, then click the unit number for the unit that needs cleaning or maintenance. (Use the search at the top of the page to find your unit faster.)

  2. On the unit detail screen, click the Add Activity button.

  3. In the activity form, select either Cleaning or Maintenance from the Activity Type drop-down list, enter the follow-up date, add a description of what needs to be done in the Add Note box, and click Save.

If you choose the Cleaning activity, the unit will be labeled as Dirty after you add the activity. If you choose the Maintenance activity, the unit will be labeled Damaged after you add it.

By default, units marked as Dirty or Damaged are unrentable, but you can change that behavior in your Unit Settings.

Remove The Damaged Or Dirty Label

You have two ways to remove the Damaged or Dirty label once the unit has been repaired or cleaned: through the Task List or through the facility map.

Remove Through The Task List

  1. Navigate to the Task List panel on the right side of your screen.

  2. Click Unit Tasks.

  3. Check the box next to the cleaning or maintenance task for the unit to complete the task and remove the Damaged or Dirty label.

If you don't see Unit Tasks in your task list, follow these steps to get your units updated:
1. Head to a unit that is marked Damaged/Dirty.
2. Add an activity with today's date as the follow-up date.
3. Watch for a Task List alert.
4. Unit Tasks may show (0) but should be bolded and will show the list of all units needing action.

Remove Through The Facility Map

  1. Navigate to the Units section on the left side of your screen.

  2. Click the unit in the facility map.

  3. In the side panel, check the box next to the cleaning or maintenance task for the unit to complete the task and remove the Damaged or Dirty label.
